Freyja Bindrune, Embroidery Beanie
€23.95Price
Freyja is a major goddess of Germanic and Nordic mythology, mentioned or represented in many stories. Nevertheless, some of the documented sources of this religious tradition must be considered with caution, as they may have been influenced by Christian or classical representations. Indeed, they have been transmitted to us, for the most part, through medieval Icelandic historians, when the island had been converted to Christianity for more than two centuries1,2,3,4.
In Norse mythology, Freyja belongs to the family of Vanes gods, and she is the daughter of Njörd, god of the oceans, fishing and fish. Freyja is also the twin sister of Freyr, god of prosperity, with whom she shares the attributes of fertility in connection with life. Her daughters are named Hnoss and Gersimi.
A snug, form-fitting beanie. It's not only a great head-warming piece but a staple accessory in anyone's wardrobe.
